Christopher Kane's fascination with all things monstrous and frightening continued for S/S 14 with t-shirts, shirts and sweaters emblazoned with menacing faces and strange, robotic bodies. To contrast last season's punchy retro Frankenstein motifs, this season Kane had taken a futuristic tone, using vectors and graphic lines that resembled sound waves and digital scans to create his scary creatures. The effect resembled something straight out of a video game or sci fi film. Indeed, those techy neons lines could have been referencing Tron or The Matrix.

While this collection would certainly appeal to geeky computer whizzes or teenage boys, in many ways it was an ironic showcase given how decidedly un-digital Kane is (he doesn't even have a website or Twitter account). Were his futuristic monsters a comment on the threat of digital attack? After all, hackers, unlike fictitious creatures, do pose a real threat. Maybe this was his justification from hiding away from the scary, new territory that is the internet. Perhaps not. Second guessing aside, this collection was a predictably wearable and commercial continuation for Kane's menswear line - nothing revolutionary, but no obvious glitches or crashes.
