Arthur Elgort is a prominent fashion photographer who was born in 1940, in New York. During his long and reputable career he has photographed many of the key supermodels including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and his clients include designers such as Comme des Garcons, Max Mara and Ralph Lauren. His work has appeared in publications such as British and American Vogue and Italian Vanity Fair, as well as in his own books such as ‘Camera Crazy’. His work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in the permanent collection of the International Centre of Photography, New York and in The Victoria and Albert Museum, London. As well as fashion photography, Elgort’s interests also lie within other fields. He photographed students at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg and directed three documentary films. He is also an avid jazz and opera enthusiast as well as a collector of over one hundred cameras.
