Ian Schrager is an American entrepreneur, hotelier and real estate developer. Originally, he gained fame as co-owner and co-founder of Studio 54, and Palladium nightclubs.

Schrager introduced the concept of the 'boutique hotel' to the world in 1984, with Morgans Hotel. He went on to establish 'lobby socialising' with the Royalton Hotel and Paramount Hotel. Other hotels Schrager founded include the Delano Hotel in Miami; Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood; the Hudson Hotel in New York; the Clift Hotel; St. Martins Lane Hotel and the Sanderson Hotel.

In 2005, he set up Ian Schrager Company which owns, develops and manages hotels, residential and mixed use projects. Since then, he has transformed the fabled Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City and created two groundbreaking residential properties, 40 Bond and 50 Gramercy Park North and successfully launched the new brand, PUBLIC Hotels. In addition, Schrager has a partnership with Marriott International on a new luxury lifestyle brand, EDITION Hotels.
