Lauren Foster

Lauren Foster is a South African model. She was born in Durban, South Africa. She is one of the world's most recognised transgender women, having been one of the first to pose for Vogue magazine (Mexico) in the 1980s.

Foster studied at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. In 2000 she began working with the iconic performer, Grace Jones. In 2001 Foster appeared in a cameo in Dirk Shafer’s eponymous movie Circuit, which explores the underground 80s party scene.

Residing in Miami Beach and Cape Town, Foster continues her artistic career and has featured in numerous magazines. In December 2011 she was photographed with trans rocker Alex Davis by celebrity image-maker Greg Gorman. She is the first transgender woman to be featured regularly on seasons two and three of The Real Housewives of Miami.

In 2013 Foster filmed two provocative biopics with filmmaker Joseph Lally.
