Mark Szaszy

Filmmaker

Mark Szaszy is a self taught documentary style filmmaker and video artist. Originally from Aotearoa in New Zealand, he has lived and worked in London since 1991.

He has made documentary style commercials for Wrangler, short films for MTV and promos for bands such as Oasis in the 1990s and had his first documentary broadcast on Channel 4 in 2000. He exhibited My Black Eye at Radvanov Castle, Prague in 2001, and has participated in shows at the ICA and The Photographers Gallery in London. Szasy collaborated with photographer Corinne Day on the film Corinne Day Diary, which aired on the BBC in 2003.

Since Day's death in 2010, Szaszy has maintained the Corinne Day Archive, working on exhibitions and publications of her work.
