Marques'Almeida is a London-based fashion label, founded in 2011. Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida met at CITEX Fashion School in Portugal, before moving to London to gain industry experience at Vivienne Westwood and Preen respectively. They began working together on the Fashion MA course at Central Saint Martins in 2009, launching their label Marques'Almeida in April 2011. Building on the streetwear references that influenced their graduate collection, Marques'Almeida have become renowned for their signature denim, grunge spirit and deconstructed aesthetic.
After showing for two seasons with Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East, the pair were awarded NewGen sponsorship, enabling them to show on-schedule at London Fashion Week. In 2013, they were nominated for the Emerging Talent Womenswear Award at the British Fashion Awards. October 2014 saw them produce a highly anticipated collaboration with Topshop. In 2014 Marques'Almeida were awarded Emerging Designer at the British Fashion Council Awards and in 2015, the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
In 2018 they showed in Paris for two seasons, but have since moved back to show in London.
