Munira Mirza

Munira Mirza is a policy advisor. She was appointed as Director of the Number 10 Policy Unit by incoming Prime Minister Boris Johnson on 24 July 2019. She previously worked under Johnson as Deputy Mayor for Education and Culture when he was Mayor of London.

Prior to this, Mirza worked for a range of organisations including Tate and the Royal Society of Arts, and as a Development Director for the conservative think-tank Policy Exchange. Whilst at this position, she edited a collection of essays published as Culture Vultures: Is UK arts policy damaging the arts? which challenged the government's efforts to promote socially inclusive arts.

She also serves on the board of the Royal Opera House and was a judge for the 2017 Museum of the Year Award for The Art Fund.
