Rag & Bone

Fashion Designer

Rag & Bone is a fashion label, founded in 2002 by Marcus Wainwright and Nathan Bogle. Bogle left in 2006, and David Neville, who had joined in 2005, became a partner with W. Both designers had no previous formal training - instead they opted to surround themselves with experienced pattern cutters to learn the tricks of the trade. The label sought to produce clothes in high quality fabric that have a classic construction and a perfect fit. Rag & Bone often collaborate with a variety of traditional suppliers and manufacturers, such as Norton & Sons on Saville Row and Martin Greenfield Tailors of Brooklyn.

In 2006 Neville and Wainwright won the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (EDFF) award in the men's category which entailed a $25,000 prize fund to put on a fashion show during NYFW. That same year they were finalists in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. In 2007 they were recipients of the CFDA's Emerging Talent Award. In 2010, Neville and Wainwright won the CFDA/Swarovski Award for Emerging Menswear Talent. In 2013, Rag & Bone was awarded the Accessories Council's Breakthrough Award. In 2014, they were nominated for the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year, being nominated again in 2015 and 2016.
