Ronan Mckenzie

Ronan Mckenzie is an artist, designer, photographer, and stylist from London. She is represented by Cadence Image. Mckenzie got her start in fashion after working in retail and completing a foundation course in fashion and textiles. She then enrolled in Central Saint Martins for Fashion Communication and Promotion, but dropped out two weeks into the course to focus on styling, gradually moving to photography.
Mckenzie's clients include i-D, Wonderland, Vogue US, LAW, Jalouse, Base Range, Marques'Almeida and American Apparel. In December 2015, she curated the A Black Body exhibition at Doomed Gallery in Dalston, which aimed to normalise the black body and challenge the overt sexualisation that often accompanies it in mainstream media. Mckenzie also worked on the Bleeding London project for the Royal Photographic Society. In 2017, she launched the independent magazine Hard Ears.
In 2020, Mckenzie launched the creative space 'Home' in response to the lack of inclusive and accessible art centres. Based in London, the space includes a library and photography studio, with a wide roster of events including exhibitions, talks and workshops.
During lockdown Mckenzie launched he own label, Selasi, which translates from the Ghanian language Ewe as “God hears me”.
