Timothy Brittain-Catlin is the author of Bleak Houses, a study of failure, loss and disappointment in architecture. He has been writing about architectural history for many years, specialising in the work of A. W. N. Pugin. He worked as an architect before joining the Kent School of Architecture in 2007.
