A$AP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) is an American rapper, musician, actor, model and entrepreneur. He was born in Harlem, New York and rose to prominence as a member of the A$AP Mob, a Harlem-based music and fashion collective. His first single Purple Swag was released in July 2011, followed by his first mixtape Live.Love.A$AP in October 2011, which landed him a record deal with Polo Grounds Music, RCA Records and Sony Music Entertainment. His subsequent albums Long.Live.A$AP (2013) and At.Long.Last.A$AP (2015) both debuted number one on the Billboard 200. A$AP Rocky has collaborated with artists such as Lil Wayne, Rod Stewart and Lana del Rey.
Rocky is also a model, actor and designer. He was previously the face of Dior Homme and appeared in the 2015 film Dope, directed by Rick Famuyiwa. In 2013, he released his clothing brand A$AP and in 2016 he guest designed a collection with Guess. He is a frequent collaborator with Raf Simons. In 2017, A$AP Rocky released a single and music video entitled Raf with the A$AP Mob. The video paid homage to Simons' A/W 96 collection.
In May 2018, A$AP Rocky released his album, Testing which features collaborations with Kid Cudi, French Montana and Frank Ocean.
A$AP Rocky has been nominated for two Grammy Awards as well as well as several MTV Music Awards. He has won one BET Award and three BET Hip Hop Awards.
