Anifa Mvuemba

Fashion Designer

Anifa Mvuemba is the founder and designer of Hanifa, a ready-to-wear womenswear label launched in 2012. The Congolese designer has grown her direct-to-consumer business entirely through social media, and has been featured in Forbes, British Vogue, Billboard and Elle. In May 2020, the brand hosted a 3-D fashion show on Instagram live for their Pink Label Congo line, which interprets the spirit of and disparities within African culture through fashion. For the virtual show, each garment was transformed into a 3-D image and tailored to invisible avatars.

In 2019, she was selected for TeenVogue's inaugural 'Generation Next' initiative, a mentorship programme helping young designers network with industry insiders.
