Begum Berdan is a fashion designer. In 2012, Berdan co-founded the now London-based fashion label DB Berdan with Deniz Berdan in Istanbul. DB Berdan works to eradicate heteronormativity, creating genderless clothing in direct reaction to social rights movements, underground culture and the street. Advocating for the LGTBQ community, Berdan also designs the collections as a continued protect against civil unrest in Turkey. In 2019, DB Berdan partnered with The Smiley Company, creating a homage to Pride.
The brand has been featured in publications including British Vogue, Vogue Turkey, Forbes USA, Cosmopolitan UK, ELLE India, L'Officiel Vietnam and Porter Magazine. DB Berdan show both during London Fashion Week and in their hometown of Istanbul at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
