Belinda Qawamba Ka-Fassie is a drag artist and activist from South Africa.
Ka-Fassie uses the art of drag to weave different aspects of their African culture and queer identity. They are a World Press Award-winning artist and also the co-founder of the #blackdragmagic movement. Having graduated with the BEd Honours in Education Development and Democracy Cum Laude from Stellenbosch University, they are now a Masters of Education Candidate in Education Policy Studies doing research on grassroots activism in schools.
Their drag persona looks to challenge the dominant construction of Xhosa masculinities, more precisely Ulwalukha which is the right of passage from boyhood to manhood. Ka-Fassie has won multiple drag pageants with titles such as Miss Drag Ambassador 2016, Miss Cape Town Pride 2016, Miss Gay Western Cape 2016, and Miss Drag South Africa 2019.
