Cecilia Sörensen is a Finnish-born fashion designer currently living and working in Barcelona. Sorensen graduated with Honours in her BA in Fashion Design from Southampton University in the UK, returning to her native Helsinki to study Tailoring before study Fashion Design in Barcelona. Graduating in 2001, Sörensen worked for Finnish designer Mari Savio before launching her own collection in 2002 in the same year she won the ‘Young Designer of the Year’ prize at ModaFAD. She designs two women’s wear collections ‘Cecilia Sörensen’, and ‘Pequeños Héroes’, a line made of recycled material and has two stores: Comitè, a designer’s collective shop, which opened in 2002, also co-owning the Bingo Shop, which opened in 2006, both situated in Barcelona. Her collection is sold throughout eight countries: Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Japan and the USA.
