Maayan has played roles in a selection of successful films, including Summer Palace, which screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, and Lost in Beijing, which had its international premiere in 2007 at Berlin International Film Festival.
Furthermore, Maayan has performed in Long Day’s Journey Into Night and The Pluto Moment, which were screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. In the same year she was nominated for Best Leading Actress at the 55th Golden Horse Awards for her role in the prostitute trilogy Three Husbands, directed by Fruit Chan.
