Fashion Designer
Demna is a Georgian fashion designer and founder of clothing brand Vetements. Demna studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp before co-founding the label Vetements with his brother Guram Gvasalia as CEO in 2014. Having led teams at Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton, Demna was appointed artistic director of luxury fashion house Balenciaga in 2015. In September 2019 it was announced that Demna would be stepping down from his post at Vetements.
In 2017 Demna was awarded the CFDA Fashion Awards' International Award for his work at both Vetements and Balenciaga. In 2018 he received the Accessories Designer of the Year award at the Fashion Awards.
