Jean-Pierre Braganza

Jean-Pierre Braganza is a fashion designer. Of Irish and Asian descent, Braganza was born in London and moved to Canada as a child. He grew up in Montreal and then moved to Toronto as a teenager. Braganza studied Fine Arts at York University, specialising in painting, before moving back to London to study fashion and womenswear at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, where he worked with Robert Cary-Williams. After his graduation he was invited to participate in a graduate showcase at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and also began to work with designer Roland Mouret.
In February 2004, Braganza presented his first full collection of men’s and womenswear at London Fashion Week. Since then, he has shown his collections not only in London, but also in Osaka, Vilnius, Singapore, Barcelona, Shanghai, Sydney and Berlin. At the beginning of 2008 he was selected by Karl Lagerfeld to participate in the Australian Wool Innovation’s Protégé Project, and revealed his A/W 08 collection to an international audience in Florence. In 2008 he was also nominated for the Swiss Textile Award.

Braganza’s clients include Estelle, Rufus Wainwright, Alison Goldfrapp, Nine Inch Nails, and Kings of Leon.
