Johanna Stickland is a Canadian self-taught painter currently living and working in Portugal. Her work has been featured in Juxtapoz, EXIT Magazine, Vision Magazine China, The Wild Magazine, Ignant, Quite Lovely Project, Metal Magazine and REVS Magazine amongst others.

Stickland worked on a series of paintings commissioned by Laid Magazine, as well as illustrating the cover art for the band Exalt. Her work was part of a group show entitled I didn't ask for this at Rhabbitat Gallery in Los Angeles.

Painting in watercolour, oil and gouache, Stickland works quickly to create an emotional atmosphere in her tender abstract representations of fluid, ghostly figures and faces.

Focusing mainly on personal commissions from individuals around the world, Stickland's paintings are held in private collections in Canada, the United States, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, Austria, Netherlands and Germany.
