Kai Isaiah Jamal is a poet, writer, model, consultant and visibility activist. Jamal's work explores growing up trans in a Muslim family, and the intersections of race, gender and sexuality. Jamal is the ICA London’s inaugural poet-in-residence.
A longtime member of the London QTPOC creative collective BBZ, Jamal works to make poetry more accessible to young people of colour, and the queer community. Jamal wrote a poem for and appeared in a Stella McCartney campaign encouraging men to talk to women about breast cancer; also performing a poem in a Vivienne Westwood campaign for Earth Day. Jamal's work was the subject of a short film by Emily McDonald for Browns, titled Somewhere, We Dance Forever.
