Kate Hills is the founder of Make it British, a platform rooted in helping UK manufacturers and British-made brands find more customers and clients.
After working as a designer and buyer for brands such as Burberry and M&S and multiple product sourcing trips overseas, Hills decided to start Make it British in April 2011 as a way of supporting British brands that manufacture their products in the UK. Make it British originally started as a blog, but has now grown to include a British brands directory as well as features on British craftsmanship and a resource for designers wanting to find manufacturers to make their products.
Hills also runs the manufacturing trade show Make it British Live! which attracts many people from all over the world, all looking to make their products in the UK.
Hills has made regular appearances on television and radio championing her belief that manufacturing in the UK can thrive and be cost-effective and sustainable.
