Liya Kebede is a fashion model originally hailing from Ethiopia. Her career was launched in 2000 when Tom Ford asked her to walk exclusively in his Autumn/Winter 2000 show. She has since been the face of numerous campaigns for the likes of Yves Saint-Laurent, Victorias Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton and has appeared on the cover of US Vogue three times.
In 2007 she was named one of the top 15 highest paid models. Kebede is also an active advocate of maternal health. She achieved the title of WHO Goodwill Ambassador in 2005 and started The Liya Kebede Foundation dedicated to saving the lives of mothers and children.
