Mario Klingemann is an artist whose work investigates and uses code, AI and data. Pushing his interest in human perception and aesthetic theory, as well as his desire to understand and subvert operating systems, Klingemann has been at the forefront of AI testing since the eighties; it was then that he created his first creatively autonomous algorithm. In 2016, Klingemann won the Artistic Award by the British Library Labs and in 2018 won the Lumen Prize Gold. At present Klingemann is an artist-in-residence at Google Arts & Culture.
