Martine Sitbon is a fashion designer. Sitbon graduated from the Fashion Design course at the Studio Berçot in 1974. In between launching her own label in 1986 and her first flagship store in 1996, Sitbon had developed her brand identity with graphic designers M/M Paris and photographer Nick Knight, and also designed for the house of Chloé for nine seasons. In 1999, Sitbon introduced menswear to her brand, and the following year Martine Sitbon was the subject of a retrospective at the prestigious Hyères Festival.
Sitbon's styles mixes elements of classic Parisian chic with rock and roll, sharp daywear and cocktail appealing to a following that included Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Zoe Cassavetes and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Rue de Mail by Martine Sitbon was launched in 2006 as Sitbon began a new phase of her brand by bringing her studio, atelier and boutique together at 5, Rue de Mail. The brand ceased operation in 2013.
