Melanie Rickey is a writer, editor and consultant who has covered fashion since 1996.  As an editor at the Independent, Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times, Rickey covered the work of Alexander McQueen and Phoebe Philo, and chronicled the first digital boom and bust. After writing for Vogue, the London Evening Standard and covering the catwalk shows for Fashion Wire Daily, Rickey became one of the launch editors on Grazia and its digital component, Grazia Live. In so doing Rickey helped transform the way fashion is covered in print media into weekly frequency, then applied it digitally into a daily and hourly proposition.

While she used to share her expert view and encyclopaedic fashion knowledge on her Fashion Editor at Large blog, Rickey continues writes on fashion, design and culture for the Guardian and Grazia, and contributes regularly to the Telegraph's fashion content. Rickey also consults for brands across the luxury and high street sectors, advising them on digital editorial strategy. Rickey has sat on the New Gen panel that supports and funds emerging British talent for London Fashion Week since 2006.
