Michael Avedon is an American photographer living in New York City. A graduate of the International Center of Photography, he works primarily with black & white 35mm and medium format film, and shoots portraits of artists, creators, politicians, and relatives.
Avedon collaborates with brands including Dior, Piaget, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Zac Posen, Norrell, and many more. His 2018 cover story for New York Magazine '72 Years of School Shootings' was widely recognised as one of the year's most significant works of photojournalism and was awarded Best Cover Photography of the Year by the Society of Publication Designers.
The legacy of his grandfather, Richard Avedon, has informed Avedon’s artistry and his interest in portraiture, sociology, fashion and lifestyle.
