Richard Villani is a creative producer, archivist and photo director.

He started his career at Robert Mapplethorpe’s studio, compiling the photographer’s estate archive with Christie’s, and then went on to Vogue, Interview and Vanity Fair where he traveled the world extensively working with some of the most esteemed photographers in the fashion and publishing world. Villani has been instrumental in creating and producing some of Vanity Fair’s iconic portfolio’s such as the annual Hollywood and New Establishment Issues and other portfolios such as The Environment, Homeless Across America and Music issues

In 2006 he founded Villani Productions, where he produces large scale productions in both editorial, advertising, and events for clients worldwide. Elsewhere, he is a Contributing Photo Director for Los Angeles Magazine and works as Creative Director for Tom of Finland Foundation and oversees the press for ToFF and Durk Dehner. Leads the annual Art & Culture Festival and Emerging Artist Contest as well as helping with archiving. Currently, he is Producing and Directing a documentary on Durk Dehner titled “DURK” as well as publishing his first art book #GAYPORNSTARS.
