Royce Mahawatte is a cultural historian who lectures Jewellery, Textiles and Fashion students in Cultural Studies at Central Saint Martins. Mahawatte also works at Fashion Roundtable, leading the Representation and Inclusion policy paper work.
Mahawatte is the author of 'George Eliot and the Gothic Novel: Genres, gender, feeling' ( published by University of Wales Press, 2013) and is currently working on a cultural and literary study of the Victorian body and fashion cultures in mid-19th century fiction and print media.
