Sinha-Stanic

Fashion Designer

Sinha-Stanic is a creative partnership between Fiona Sinha and Aleksandar Stanic. Half-Indian half-British, Fiona Sinha was born in Aberdeen and raised in Newcastle. Aleksandar Stanic was born in Croatia and moved to Hamburg, Germany in 1990. In 1998, both moved to London to begin a foundation course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Whilst working on their first college project together, Sinha and Stanic began a relationship and have been a couple ever since. Both remained at Central Saint Martins: Sinha went on to study a BA in Fashion Design, Womenswear, whilst Stanic began a BA in Fashion Design and Print.

Graduating from their respective degrees in 2002, Sinha began to study a Womanswear MA at St Martins, and Stanic worked as a freelance print designer. In 2004 they created their first collection and entered the Fashion Fringe competition. As one of the four finalists, Sinha and Stanic's collection debuted at London Fashion Week. This was to be the beginning of their design label Sinha-Stanic. After the show they signed with AEFFE, the Italian luxury goods company. Their first independent show took place during London Fashion Week in February 2005.

The brand closed in 2009. The pair have continued to work together, joining McQ, the Alexander McQueen diffusion line, in 2014 as joint design and image directors, leaving in 2019. In 2020, they joined Trussardi's Archive+Now project, developing a S/S 21 collection of men's and womenswear.
