Willie Walters is a fashion academic, and Central Saint Martins' leader of womenswear courses from 1992-2016. She became course director of BA Fashion in 1998, succeeding Wendy Dagworthy, and in 2010, she was promoted to programme director for Fashion. She shaped the prestigious course over the two decades she worked there into the multi-pathway hot house for creativity that it is today. Those who have studied under her aegis are Angel Chen, Bora Aksu, Charles Jeffery, Christopher Kane, Craig Green, Gareth Pugh, Grace Wales Bonner, Hussein Chalayan, Meadham Kirchhoff, Molly Goddard, Phoebe English, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, Richard Malone, Stella McCartney, Wes Gordon and Zac Posen, amongst many others.
During her time at CSM, Walters championed the freshest, strongest and most forward-thinking visions, consistently celebrating fashion in its most sincere essence with her unique style and wit.
