Junior Film Editor
SHOWstudio is looking for a talented full-time junior film editor to join our Fashion Film team.
The successful applicant must have knowledge of Premiere Pro, Davinci including offline editing, motion graphics, compositing and colour grading.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive interest and knowledge in Fashion, be interested in music and new technologies.
Along with technical ability the applicant should have enthusiasm for fashion and film, as well as a creative, motivated approach. If selected the applicant will be working on all different scopes of projects, from editorial to main fashion, and many more SHOWstudio briefs.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Ingest footage & organise into premiere project as directed
- Social media assets, video posts for Instagram, Instagram Story, Instagram Tv, Facebook & Twitter
- Compressing and converting files
- Preliminary edit for review & continuation by senior editor, in fashion, in your face, best in show, narrated catwalk, and any other SHOWstudio series. This can include the following. Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film. Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects. Asset research and implementation. Create rough and final cuts. Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running. Ensuring highest quality of product, with no glitches or errors at project stage, export stage and upload stage. All of these done by following visual direction and reference given by senior editor or head of department. All content produced is to be directly shown & given to head of department for comments and approval before being shared with the team.
- Assistance by way of research, effect processing, footage selection, file compression and conversion, uploading, exporting etc on Nick Knight’s commercial and personal projects. i.e. applying an effect as directed by Senior Editor or Head of department to selected footage provided to him within timeline given.
- Helping film team during filming of live panels, best in show, live streamed fashion shoots and any other SHOWstudio production. This may include filming, vision mixing or helping with batteries and cards, prepping cameras as dictated by reference given or any other general assistance needed on set or in pre-production.
- Upkeep of studio and department, kitchen & bathroom duties, as well as general cleanliness of desk space etc.
- Location and processing of archive footage & assets as needed.
- SHOWstudio film submission duties, ingesting all information & film link into set document structure. Marking any missing information or issues with submission. This is to be done for then review by senior film team & head of department, as well as eventually NK. As these films are being ingested and gone through, any standout films should be mentioned on a day-to-day basis to head of department for special review.
NECESSARY SKILL SET
- Working knowledge of Mac computer systems and programs.
- The ability to work in both Windows and Apple environments, as required per the project.
- Advanced in knowledge in Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, After Effects and Media Encoder.
- Knowledge of Final Cut and Davinci resolve
- Knowledge of cameras and how to use them.

Senior Film Editor
SHOWstudio is looking for a talented full-time senior film editor to join our Fashion Film team.
The successful applicant must have in depth knowledge of Premiere Pro, Davinci including offline editing, motion graphics, compositing and colour grading.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive interest and knowledge in Fashion, be interested in music and new technologies.
They must have a strong understanding of 3D. Ideally, the applicant would have experience editing interview content and commercial formats. Along with very strong technical ability the applicant should have enthusiasm for fashion and film, as well as a creative, motivated approach. If selected the applicant will be working on all different scopes of projects, from editorial to main fashion, and many more SHOWstudio briefs.
As a Senior Video Editor, you may be responsible for directly training between 1-3 junior team members every year. Your junior co-workers will look to you for guidance and learning. You, as a Senior Video Editor, will be responsible for their improvement, video editing capabilities, and continued growth and learning within the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Editing films for online and broadcast usage
- Editing films and interviews for the website.
- Capable of training junior team members
- Capable of handling multiple, multi-weeklong video editing projects simultaneously.
- Review and feedback edits from the junior members of the team.
- Making sure that all assets for an edit are in place before the edit process starts, by liaising with the Design and Editorial team.
- Formatting videos to the site and to our social network outlets such as Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and Twitter.
- Formatting films for commercial use.
- Preparing films for multiscreen presentations and showcasing
- Grading.
- Filming on set under the direction of Nick Knight.
- Filming interviews and Fashion Films
- Doing visual research for project reference.
- Researching new technology and how it can be implemented into our practice.
- Use 3d to be integrated with our film projects.
- Project archival and file organisation.
NECESSARY SKILL SET
