DIGITAL (GRAPHIC/WEB) DESIGNER

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A GRAPHIC DESIGN / WEB DESIGN / MOTION GRAPHICS BASED ROLE, IT IS NOT A PHOTOGRAPHY / FASHION (GARMENT) DESIGN / FILM ROLE. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Taking direction from Nick Knight and senior team to independently produce visual concepts and design work for web, social, apps and motion graphics projects.
  • Developing appropriate design solutions for any internal brief from SHOWstudio gallery, shop, film or editorial department.
  • Planning / communicating with other teams to ensure designs match available levels of resourcing.
  • Brainstorming, storyboarding and sketching designs for new projects.
  • Creating eye-catching presentations to appeal to clients / stakeholders.
  • Designing and delivering title cards, design elements and motion graphics for our video content; including fashion films and interviews.
  • Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web and using content-management systems.
  • Checking design content before showing it to the senior team for sign-off.
  • Collaborating with developers and creative technology team to implement new web / app features.
  • Report to the Project Manager and senior team about progress and deadlines.
  • Have a good understanding of current design and media trends and apply this to your work.

IDEAL CANDITATE:

  • Graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years experience working within a similarly fast paced and creative environment
  • A passion for the arts and fashion - excellent visual design skills with an eye for detail, with good knowledge of the potential and limitations of modern responsive web design, typography and grid-based design systems.
  • A digital portfolio of work which demonstrates your flair and accompanying description outlining your specific involvement in the creation of each design (personal website / PDF / Powerpoint or similar).
  • Adobe Creative Suite – particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects / Premiere / MediaEncoder.
  • Experience creating motion graphics.
  • Experience of converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web / social media.
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of different social media platforms.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with software, ensuring your file management and delivery is well structured and considered.
  • Well organized and excellent at managing schedules and timings
  • Self motivated with the ability to work and learn independently
  • Legal right to work in the United Kingdom. This is not a remote working position.
  • Experience at producing print work, posters, postcards and invitations.

BONUS QUALITIES:

  • Experience with 3D software (Blender/Cinema4D) would be a big bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest CSS and HTML standards is a bonus
  • Experience of content management systems.
  • Adobe XD knowledge or willingness to learn a bonus.

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT

SHOWstudio have an exciting opportunity for one individual to work within our studio to help us push boundaries, create solutions and manage all social media activities. The Social Media Assistant will be an integral member of the SHOWstudio team. You will have a proven track record of demonstrating exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Social Media landscape – including content optimisation and algorithms, building and engaging communities, social listening and reporting, skills in planning and executing socially-led projects and campaigns, and an understanding of the latest technologies impacting key global platforms. Additionally, you will have an excellent understanding of different users’ engagement on different platforms and have skills in visual branding in order to produce high quality content that engages audiences. You are passionate about social media, and understand different platforms' complexities and nuances because you are an experienced, avid user. You are naturally curious, always seeking out best practice examples, and love to break down barriers with new ways of doing things.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Managing all social media accounts for SHOWstudio – TikTok, Discord, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn.
  • Scheduling and publishing content across all social media platforms.
  • Generating and creating overall social media weekly/monthly/yearly calendar.
  • Developing and setting social media content strategies for each platform, with weekly and monthly reports on performance across key metrics. ROI reports where necessary.
  • Coordinate social media specific content creation.
  • Monitor and strategize all social media community engagement. E.g: monitoring responses and engaging as appropriate to strengthen SHOWstudio’s profile, engaging with existing SHOWstudio contributors but also target and gain the support of other industry creatives or influencers.
  • Reporting to the Content Editor, under the guidance from the Director and Editor
  • Attendance at events (after-hours) where/if required, for live social coverage etc.
  • Providing ad hoc assistance to other teams when required.
  • Working closely with both Film and Design teams to ensure content created is optimised for all social platforms and adhering to best practice.
  • Oversee copywriting for all social platforms, working alongside the Editorial team.

IDEAL CANDITATE:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about all SHOWstudio and its rich archive of projects.
  • 2 or more years of experience, ideally in a similar social media role.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools such as Later, Loomly, Hootsuite, Buffer and Asana.
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting.
  • Experience in fashion is essential, and an interest in digital fashion, photography and film would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of influencers, creatives, and competitors within the industry is key.

SKILLS:

  • Strong writing and sub-editing skills.
  • Ability to understand and appropriately convey SHOWstudio’s values, tone of voice and visual aesthetic.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to work within a fast-paced, growing business.
  • Strong understanding of social media scheduling, reporting and analytical platforms.
  • Ability to effectively manage community engagement.
  • Photography skills are desirable but not compulsory.
