GALLERY ASSISTANT

Assisting Associate Director of Nick Knight’s Archive Bex Cassie, this role will provide excellent hands-on experience in being front of house in a gallery, whilst simultaneously working on behind the scenes coordination of inventories, uploading of artwork to our e-commerce platform, and maintaining display and safe storage of artworks. This role is ideally suited to individuals with excellent interpersonal skills, organisational abilities, strong communication and administrative skills as well as experience in front of house gallery roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manage seasonal illustrator relations
  • Keep a tidy database of all illustrator contact details and payment information
  • Build and maintain a database of potential artists for future collaboration
  • Review illustration submissions and reach out to artists of interest
  • Relationship management between SHOWstudio & artist repertoire
  • Management of Tumblr takeovers
  • Create and maintain countersigned consignment agreements between SHOWstudio & artist repertoire
  • Assist team on large scale SHOWstudio projects
  • Manage illustration projects - i.e V-magazine digital shoot / #styleshootdraw
  • Organise fashion illustration exhibitions and arrange framing, delivery and logistics, send out invites and arrange press coverage, private openings etc.

PRODUCT & SALES MANAGEMENT

  • Keep an inventory database for all fashion illustrations, including generation of SKU codes, log of pricing,
  • Artist name, size and materials 
  • Manage a log of all Fashion Illustration sales on the SHOWstudio sales spreadsheet and raise invoices where necessary
  • Inform artist of sales on a timely manner and request invoices from artists
  • Arrange payment of invoices with bookkeeper
  • Change over fashion illustration landing pages on shop.showstudio.com to refresh the site
  • Build in illustrations as shop products & pack up all online orders using shopify platform & shippo
  • Liaise with accountant on end of year stock takes and quarterly sales reports

GALLERY & RETAIL

  • Manage day to day front of house, ensuring the space is clean, tidy and organised
  • Manage inventory of artwork, ensuring work is organised, safely and securely stored in its allocated location 
  • Manage inventory of packaging for illustrations presentation in store and for shipping to customers
  • Develop retail partnerships with interior stores, home wear boutiques, museum shops, book stores etc. to place fashion illustrations and SHOWstudio merchandise.

MARKETING AND PROMOTION 

  • Grow external promotion and publicity by developing relationships with key online and printed Press, bloggers and keep a tidy contact database
  • Liaise with the editorial department to ensure Fashion Illustration is prominently featured across SHOWstudio.com's projects and news pages
  • Liaise with the social media department to create campaigns and ensure Fashion Illustration is prominently featured across SHOWstudio's social media

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT

SHOWstudio has an exciting opportunity for one individual to work within our studio to help us push boundaries, create solutions and assist on all social media activities. The Social Media assistant will be an integral member of the SHOWstudio team. You will have a proven track record of demonstrating exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Social Media landscape – including content optimisation and algorithms, building and engaging communities, social listening and reporting, skills in planning and executing socially-led projects and campaigns, and an understanding of the latest technologies impacting key global platforms. Additionally, you will have an excellent understanding of different users’ engagement on different platforms and have skills in visual branding in order to produce high quality content that engages audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Scheduling and publishing content across all social platforms:
    • Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Discord
  • Selection of key moments and time codes from all types of video content
  • Planning social calendars with Social Editor and wider team
  • Writing social text and captions that are in line with house tone
  • Check and reply to comments and direct messages on all platforms
  • Optimizing and duplicating assets across different platforms
  • Assisting with content creation ideas and production
  • Following fashion and a wider cultural calendar, whilst also being able to be quick and reactive to current news and events
  • Following and engaging in crypto and NFT community digital communities
  • Tracking, recording and analyzing analytics and reporting statistics to the wider company
  • Assisting the Social Editor and wider team with day to day tasks throughout the studio

NECESSARY SKILLSET

  • Strong writing and sub-editing skills.
  • Ability to understand and appropriately convey SHOWstudio’s values, tone of voice and visual aesthetic.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to work within a fast-paced, growing team.
  • Strong understanding of social media’s scheduling, reporting and analytical platforms.
  • Ability to effectively manage and report on community engagement.
  • Familiar with Discord and with community management
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting
  • Experience in fashion is essential and an interest in photography and film would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of influencers, creatives, competitors within the industry is key.
  • Photography skills would be desirable but not compulsory.
  • Fantastic eye for detail — able to do deep research to select best imagery to use for assets and imagery for cover photos, adapting for each themed asset while still having continuity with our overarching style guide

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Taking direction from Nick Knight and senior team to produce visual concepts and design work for web, social, apps and motion graphics projects.
  • Developing appropriate design solutions for any internal brief from SHOWstudio gallery, shop, film or editorial department.
  • Planning / communicating with other teams to ensure designs match available levels of resourcing.
  • Brainstorming, storyboarding and sketching designs for new projects.
  • Creating eye-catching presentations to appeal to clients / stakeholders.
  • Designing and delivering title cards, design elements and motion graphics for our video content; including fashion films and interviews.
  • Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web and using content-management systems.
  • Checking design content before showing it to the senior team for sign-off.
  • Collaborating with developers and creative technology team to implement new web / app features.
  • Report to the Project Manager and senior team about progress and deadlines.
  • Have a good understanding of current design and media trends and apply this to your work.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years experience working within a similarly fast paced and creative environment
  • A passion for the arts and fashion
  • Excellent visual design skills with an eye for detail, with good knowledge of the potential and limitations of modern responsive web design, typography and grid-based design systems. Excellent knowledge of the latest CSS and HTML standards is a bonus.
  • A digital portfolio of work which demonstrates your flair and accompanying description outlining your specific involvement in the creation of each design (personal website / PDF / Powerpoint or similar).
  • Adobe Creative Suite – particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects / Premiere / MediaEncoder. Adobe XD knowledge or willingness to learn a bonus.
  • Experience creating motion graphics.
  • Experience with Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides / PDF creation.
  • Experience at producing print work, posters, postcards and invitations.
  • Experience of converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web / social media.
  • Experience of content management systems.
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of different social media platforms.
  • Experience with 3D software (Blender/Cinema4D) would be a big bonus.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with software, ensuring your file management and delivery is well structured and considered.
  • Well organised and excellent at managing schedules and timings
  • Self motivated with the ability to work and learn independently

JUNIOR EDITOR

SHOWstudio is looking for a talented full-time junior film editor to join the team and work in our fashion film department. The successful applicant must have extensive knowledge of Premiere Pro, including offline editing, motion graphics, compositing and colour grading. They must have a strong understanding of video compressions and conversions with programs such as Media Encoder. Ideally, the applicant would have experience editing social media and interview content, able to quickly and precisely sync audio and follow timecodes. Along with very strong technical ability, the applicant should have enthusiasm for fashion and film, as well as a creative, motivated approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Making Instagram assets from archive & new pieces of content.
  • Uploading videos to the site and to our social network outlets such as Facebook, Youtube and Vimeo.
  • Preparing films for the site, inserting title cards, processing video compressions and uploading videos in multiple platforms.
  • Preparing video footage for the edit and transferring files to an edit-friendly format.
  • Formatting films to requested specs.
  • Editing Interviews.
  • Editing process film/behind the scenes content.
  • Doing selects on raw footage for fashion film or behind the scenes.
  • Filming on set under direction.
  • Filming interviews.
  • Filming b-roll/extra content for films/interviews.
  • Pulling additional imagery via online research for content.
  • Doing visual research for project reference.
  • Machine upkeep and organisation.
  • Project archival and file organisation.

NECESSARY SKILLSET

  • Working knowledge of Mac computer systems and programs.
  • Advanced in knowledge in Premiere Pro.
  • Familiar with working with the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, After Effects and Media Encoder.
  • Knowledge of cameras and how to use them.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • You must have a strong appreciation of Fashion Film and SHOWstudio’s legacy.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process.
  • Flexible, highly-organised and detail-orientated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a diplomatic and proactive approach.
  • Able to deal with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must be a quick problem solver who can turn around edits quickly.
  • You must be able to take direction and work well with all departments.
