16Arlington Celebrates Late Co-Founder With New Campaign
‘Out of darkness, comes light’, reads the press release for 16Arlington’s A/W 22 campaign. While the brand’s exuberant evening wear has made it the toast of the town among London’s it-girls, for its latest campaign it pares things back in a homage to late co-founder Federica ‘Kikka’ Cavenati. In lieu of a splashy backdrop and plethora of props, the sombre imagery pulls focus on the label’s effortlessly refined autumn collection.
Presented at London Fashion Week in February, the brand's A/W 22 show was rife with brand mainstays like thigh-grazing skirts, fuzzy fabrics, and no shortage of sequins. It was presented just months after the passing of Cavenati who founded the brand along with her partner Marco Capaldo. Rather than cancel the show, Capaldo pushed his late partner's legacy forward with a joyful display of dance-floor creations.
As a continued act of mourning, while also celebrating Cavenati's life and legacy, the campaign looks to capture the prodigious designer's irrepressible energy. Titled Tears, it was shot by fashion image maker Hugo Comte and brand collaborator Georiga Pendlebury. Starring Morgan Porter and Alva Claire donning the brand's sleek eveningwear embellished with feathers and sparkle while also highlighting the continued devotion to female empowerment, freedom, and fun.
