Alexander McQueen Unite Photographers to Interpret the Tread Slick Shoe
More likely than not, you've found yourself kicking around the same old places more than usual, lately. With lockdown enforced, businesses closed and public transport reserved for key workers, the contours of your local environment are getting a closer look on your daily government-allotted walk, be they the rosebush in a neighbour's garden, walking along the top of a low wall or noticing the pigeons clustering around a few stray crumbs.
In this mood, Alexander McQueen have echoed this spirit of seeing your world through fresh eyes in their new set of images for their Tread Slick shoe, first seen for Pre-Spring 2020. A series of photographers from around the world were commissioned to capture the Tread Slick in their current environment. These include Adama Jalloh, Lea Colombo, Eddie Wrey, Alice Schillaci, Luis Alberto Rodriguez, Wing Shya and Julia Noni, shooting in locations ranging from Peckham to Berlin and Hong Kong.
The shoe itself features an oversized rubber sole with a canvas upper in seasonal colours, and is a lighter incarnation of its leather predecessor, the Tread Boot. Below are images from the different photographers.
