Following their Paris A/W 20 show in the rather grand Hôtel de Ville, Vivienne Westwood and partner Andreas Kronthraler have taken things back to basics, creating a series of images together in lockdown to launch the collection, but without scrimping on the confrontational attitude typical of many a Vivienne Westwood campaign- see Juergen Teller's long history with the label.
Styled by the duo and photographed by Kronthraler, the images see the British icon take us round the Westwood offices in a tailored navy trouser suit, a fantastic deconstructed trench in orange plaid and a corseted taffeta ballgown. We'd expect nothing less.
All at once, we also catch glimpses of the Westwood studio. Rolls of fabrics are stacked ready to be worked into the next collection, whilst a photograph of Westwood's infamous Mini Crini S/S 95 collection forms the backdrop to another scene. Signs on doors to switch out the lights can also be spotted, reflecting the eco-conscious approach Westwood has tirelessly campaigned for, and which makes the creation of a campaign absent of a studio team travelling back and forth just about the perfect fit.
