After the loss of their mutual friend, the late production designer Michael Howells, the pair set up the Ever After Garden in dedication to all those who have lost a loved one.
This December, 27,000 illuminated white roses will light up Mayfair's Grosvenor Square. In dedication to anyone who has lost a loved one, the display is a poignant tribute that comes after many have lost their lives over the past two years due to a global pandemic. Led by writer Camilla Morton and designer and Royal Marsden Cancer Charity Trustee, fashion designer Anya Hindmarch, the display provides a moment of recognition for those we've lost, inspired by the death of their friend, the late production designer Michael Howells.
To get involved, you can 'dedicate' a rose with a suggested minimum donation of £10; your rose will then become part of the display, while 100% of the proceeds go towards the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
In a statement, Hindmarch declared the importance of the project by commenting:
'The Ever After Garden was born out of the need to pay tribute to those we have lost during the year. It was an idea originally conceived with Camilla Morton in memory of Michael Howells and is named after the film for which he designed the sets. However this garden should be personal to everyone. For me, it is also in memory of my aunt Elizabeth Hindmarch. My wish is for this to be a place to reflect at Christmas in amongst all the festive cheer, and in doing so raise money for the incredible institution that is The Royal Marsden.'
The Ever After Garden will be open to visitors throughout December until the 23rd of the month and will be open daily from 12:00 to 20:00.
