The Armani group have announced that all of its Italian production plants have now switched to making single-use medical overalls, to help the healthcare workers fighting COVID-19. Italy being a country that has been among the most seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic, this is sure to help its national efforts in managing the health crisis.

Giorgio Armani was the first major designer to have altered his new season presentation at Milan Fashion Week earlier this month in response to coronavirus safety precautions. Instead of holding the show as usual, Armani asked his guests to stay at home and watch the models walk via weblink.

Armani has also given generously–in total €2m–to a number of medical institudions, including the National Civil Protection Department; the Luigi Sacco, San Raffaele and Istituto dei Tumori hospitals in Milan; the Istituto Spallanzani in Rome; as well as hospitals in Bergamo, Piacenza and Versilia in Tuscany.
