Bottega Veneta Debuts Craft in Motion with Fashion Film
'I think luxury is something you feel rather than see; it is much more personal and emotive for the person wearing the clothing than for those looking at them' creative director Matthieu Blazy explains of his vision for craft and beauty at Bottega Veneta. The Italian heritage brand's new film, Craft in Motion, invites viewers into the workings of their artisanal workshop in Montebello, revealing how quiet luxury really comes to life.
Honing in on the iconic Intrecciato weave which makes up key accessories and outwear, the exceptional craft of Bottega Veneta is celebrated in this film by Massimiliano Bomba set inside a 19th century villa in Northern Italy. Meditating on the art of craft, the film profiles both makers and process as shots playfully skip between weaving, stitching and cutting, following the creation of the brand's unique leather objects. 'I want the wearer to be empowered without the clothing being loud. It is style over fashion in its timelessness', says Blazy.
