Angela Missoni is stepping down from her role at the family-run Italian label.

This morning it was announced that Angela Missoni will be stepping down from her role as creative director at Missoni, the brand renowned for its innovative knitwear and founded by her parents in 1953. The A/W 21 collection was her last for the house, having taken the brand into the 21st century after taking on the role in 1997. She will stay on as president at the label, which remains to be a family affair with Angela Missoni's brothers, nephews, mother and, until recently, her daughter all holding creative roles within the company. Design director Alberto Caliri, who has worked alongside Angela Missoni for over a decade, is now leading the house creatively and will debut his first collection in September, with 2021 marking the next turning point in Missoni's future.

Revisit this SHOWstudio In Conversation where Angela Missoni and fashion journalist Gianluca Longo discussed the success of the Missoni brand and the house’s evolution over the years.
