The financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic means the critically acclaimed brand by Sander Lak will be closing.

The New York brand known for its exuberant use of colour, Sies Marjan, announced on Monday 15 June 2020 that it is closing, as a result of COVID-19's financial impact. Despite being backed by billionaire couple Nancy and Howard Marks, the brand founded by Dutch designer Sander Lak noted that the coronavirus impact had been 'significant'.

A hugely popular and critically acclaimed brand over the five years it was in operation, Sies Marjan will be sorely missed and fashion will be a lot less bright as a result, quite literally - its degradé silk and satin pieces in cerulean, tangerine and cerise were much sought after.
