It’s hard not being optimistic as we ring in the New Year and jump towards the future with a fresh perspective. If the Lunar calendar has anything to say about it then 2023 is bound to be full of hope. After all, the 22 of January officially marks the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit. As a symbol of peace and prosperity, the cuddly critter makes the perfect mascot for brands big and small celebrating the Lunar New Year, with Burberry being no exception. The inventors of gabardine have introduced a special Year of the Rabbit capsule collection to help everyone celebrate the festivities, stamping signature staples with a new print and graphics inspired by the Chinese zodiac sign.
Comprised of womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, and accessories, the exclusive collection embodies the playfulness and confidence of its inspiration. A focal point of the celebratory capsule is the spirited rendition of the brand's signature Thomas Burberry Monogram that's been bunny-fied with a pair of floppy ears. The new and improved monogram has been stamped on everything from silk scarves to the brand's latest it-accessory, the Lola bag.
To show off the fun-loving designs, Burberry has enlisted the help of some of China's biggest stars. The campaign features actors Shi Peng Yuan and Qi Xi, along with footballer Zhao Lina as they venture through the concrete jungle and countryside. Shot by video director Zika Liu with photography by Sky, the talented trio embody the high energy of the rabbit as they traipse through picturesque scenes that are bound to encourage anyone's wanderlust.
