communeEAST Presents Volume One of its Book Club

SHOWstudio contributor and founder of communal space communeEAST, Leanne Elliot Young presents Volume One of IRL CommuneEAST Book Club in collaboration with Helene Selam Kleih, the author of this months book Him + His.

The book tackles the issues and stigmas of male mental health, with Kleih harbouring inspiration from her personal experience with men close to her who have suffered. The anthology is particularly poignant in todays climate, and communeEAST’s book club aims to actively discuss the contemporary prejudices which exist around masculinity, taking the conversation offline and into reality. Young hosts the panel exploring the content of the book, joined by Kleih, as well as author and activist, Wilson Oryema, and from the charity Mind, Rashid Nix.

This months book club takes place at The Curtain Hotel, EC2A 3PT, on 26 June from 19:30 to 22:30 BST.
