The Cottweiler boys are back in town, as Aspect Online drop the London brand's first online archive sale.

Cottweiler is the dearly loved London brand by Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty. Their concept driven, contemporary menswear has amassed a cult-like following since the brand was founded in 2010 on Tumblr. The duo were shortlisted for the LVMH prize in 2016, and numerous other accolades followed. Their signature sheer tracksuits, utilitarian details (they love a zip), colour-blocking, and sensual use of technical fabrications have offered a new concept driven take on British sportswear, garnering high demand. Now, they've exclusively partnered with Aspect Online, an up and coming retail platform launched by Milun Kumar last year, to launch a curation of their archive, launching today, Thursday 18 February 2021 at 12:00 GMT on Aspect Online.

Every season, Cottweiler takes followers and show-goers alike to new worlds with a 360 degree take on the Cottweiler male, who has found himself inspired by underground rock climbing, walking through a dusty pink squash court or marching across smashed dinner plates from a Mediterranean lunch. The Cottweiler boy has become the obsession of many; fetish is a word often associated with their collections. Their take on menswear and sportswear presents utterly beautiful takes on mundanity, masculinity and sensuality at once - just think back to A/W 14's preview video where a Cottweiler-clad male gets wet in the shower, or their Pitti Uomo show which threw heteronormativity on its head by presenting men massaging one another in the lookbook - all based on the idea of sports aftercare. We last saw the Cottweiler boys for S/S 20 when they released a pre-filmed runway show cum fashion film with Boiler Room.

With the re-sale market proving to be a hot ticket, and Cottweiler's unique, recognisable brand DNA complete with sought over designs, a Cottweiler archive sale is a no brainer - but a treat we didn't dare let ourselves imagine before now. Working closely with Aspect and founder Kumar, Cottweiler have curated a selection from the past ten seasons. It's an exciting new move for both parties, with Aspect functioning as a unique platform of trans-seasonal, archival, new and made-to-order items from independent designers.

The Cottweiler x Aspect launch will be released across two drops on Aspect Online with the second drop next week, on Thursday 25 February 2021. All stock is limited.

To mark the launch, Aspect have created an Instagram AR filter which you can use by heading over to their profile page.

'We are really excited to be working with Cottweiler as it is a brand that has epitomised London menswear for so many years. It is a privilege to exclusively launch their archive on Aspect Online. We are thrilled to be expanding our menswear offering and we know our customers will be super excited to shop a brand as progressive and iconic as Cottweiler' Kumar says.
