Dior Maison Opens New Boutique Space in Harrods
Dior Maison - Christian Dior's homeware line - has opened a new boutique space in luxury department store Harrods. Alongside the Dior Maison collections by creative director Cordelia de Castellane, there is furniture and tableware adorned with Dior's recognisable toile de Jouy and the Check'N'Dior motif - why stop at simply wearing Dior when you can live in it?
In fact, visiting the boutique space will give you an excellent primer on Dior past and present. de Castellane's collections feature Dior's house codes, including cannage (a type of geometric wickerwork), the bee symbol, and the flowers that Monsieur Dior himself considered his true passion. And the patterns on the furniture and tableware? Sourced from current Dior main line creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri's runway shows.
Coupled with Dior's recently released book celebrating the house's long collaboration with the late photographer Peter Lindbergh, there's no excuse not to know Dior's design output inside and out.
