Dior Men’s Goes On A Garden Stroll With It’s S/S 23 Campaign
When Kim Jones presented his Dior Men’s S/S 23 collection last June, the artistic director had the crowd wishing they had a green thumb like the maison’s founder. The show’s set was a recreation of Christian Dior’s pink childhood home, ‘Les Rhumbs’, located in Granville. Complete with a sprawling garden, models strutted down a lawn of green grass donning Jones’ take on roomy Bermuda shorts and wide-brim sun hats. Well, the designer is keeping on the gardening theme with his latest campaign for the brand set in an enchanting garden. The dreamlike setting features models donning the latest collection in a reimagination of the Bloomsbury Group (a reference continuously revisted by Jones over the course of his tenure at Dior).
While the show recreated Dior's home in Normandy, the choice of wild flowers are reminiscent of the English gardens familiar with Jones. The pastel tones juxtapose his relaxed tailoring and functional outdoor attire, including a cannage cut-out gardening hat and hiking boots. Blurring the lines between the hyper masculine and feminine is something that Jones has expertly achieved while at the maison. The Fall 2023 Dior Men's show featured the designer's signature utilitarian gear, truncated with details inspired by monsieur Dior's couture gowns from the 50s. Dubbed an 'ode to freedom', the romantic campaign is sure to spark anyones love for the great outdoors.
