After two years of closure, the historic building that has become the ultimate symbol of luxury for the house has finally thrown open its doors, ready to welcome visitors into its magical world.

Undergoing a 'new look' (which we all know Dior can do so expertly well), the legendary hôtel particulier has thrown open its doors after two years undergoing renovation. Recognised by Dior as an 'emblem of Parisian elegance and French haute couture', the 30 Montaigne building first cast its spell on Monsieur Christian Dior in 1946 and has seen the house's collections spring to life for the last 75 years. 'It had to be 30 Avenue Montaigne. I was going to settle here and nowhere else!', the designer once said.

Dior's 30 Montaigne

First chosen for its prime Paris location and striking neoclassical stone façade, renovations have bestowed a new sense of magic onto 30 Montaigne. Inviting visitors into the magical world of Christian Dior and savoir-faire, architect Peter Marino combined heritage and modernity by using over 100 different materials. Artists including Jennifer Steinkamp and Nancy Lorenz were commissioned to create exclusive works for the space, and the outdoor rose garden alludes to Monsieur Dior's love of flowers and the Miss Dior perfume first created on this site.

The building has been transformed into what maison Dior refer to as 'a unique place like no other in the world', where visitors will find exclusive one-off creations of designs like the Saddle and Lady Dior bags. The exhibition space La Galerie Dior explores the design history of the house, and the visionaries who took over after Christian Dior's death in 1957, from Yves Saint Laurent and Marc Bohan to Raf Simons. To make the visit complete, there's a pâtisserie and restaurant. In other words, Paris is calling.
