The iconic luxury retailer celebrates it’s 15th anniversary with special projects.

Back in 2004, Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo conceived the original Dover Street Market on Dover Street in Mayfair, London, where it lived for nearly 12 years before the multi-storey clothes emporium moved to Haymarket in 2016. The groundbreaking retailer has gone on to expand internationally with seven Dover Street Markets located in London, Ginza (Tokyo), Beijing, Singapore, New York, Los Angeles, and Dover Street Parfums Market, Paris.

This year sees the 15th anniversary of the iconic luxury retailer’s inception and to celebrate, Dover Street Market has launched a special project entitled MONOCHROMARKET, that invites friends and key collaborators to take icons, past, present and future, and reimagine and reinterpret them in monochrome. The new monochromatic creations will be specially presented throughout the store windows in London and will be shown in outposts throughout DSMs around the world.

Simultaneously, DSM will be launching ‘Black Market Comme des Garcons’ outside of Tokyo for the first time, with a unique black hut complex on the Ground Floor.

The celebrations conclude with a constructed installation arrangement to adorn the DSM exterior, specially designed by Rei Kawakubo, featuring the crazy calligrafuturism of Pokras Lampas.
