In their latest campaign, luxury menswear brand dunhill announces their ‘dunhill Community’, a collection of men considered to personify the dunhill brand. Through a series of still and moving images, the campaign features men telling their own stylised stories through clothing and accessories from the dunhill Autumn/Winter 2019 collection.
dunhill Community will look at the lives of these men, their contrasting characters and their individual work environments. The first instalment of the new project is split into two parts and centred around Mayfair, featuring James Massiah and Robin Katz as ‘The Poet’ and ‘The Dealer’ respectively.
First up to launch, ‘The Poet’ features poet James Massiah. The South Londoner is leading the way in today's poetry revival, and in contrast to the popular image of poetry as flowery words on romance and nature, Massiah’s poetry explores darker, contemporary themes like sexuality, mortality and ethics.
When asked what he hoped to represent as a part of dunhill Community, Massiah told SHOWstudio: ‘Poetry! It’s an art form I love and have come to represent in some way. I hope to offer a perspective on the magnificence of the form.’ adding ‘I hope [viewers] love it, share it and are impressed and awestruck by it.’
