dunhill Welcomes New Creative Director Simon Holloway
dunhill announced this morning that Simon Holloway would take the position of creative director, replacing Mark Weston.
The house said in a press release that the decision would do little to change dunhill's signature style, with Holloway bringing a deep and rich understanding of English heritage style and design codes. Holloway joins from Richemont Maison James Purdey & Sons, where, as creative director, he successfully laid the foundations for a growing clothing and accessories collection.
The move also follows the new appointment of CEO Laurent Malecaze last year, who is dedicated to pushing dunhill forward with a sense of renewed dynamism for British craft, innovation, functionality and elegance; all principles synonymous with Holloway's design aesthetic.
In a statement to press, the new creative director noted of his respect for the house and the privilege at being granted such an opportunity:
'It is a great privilege to be appointed dunhill's creative director and trusted with the rich and extraordinary heritage crafted by its founder. Alfred Dunhill was a pioneer, an innovator and one of the most influential British tastemakers of the 20th century. His obsession with ingenuity and refinement established a House synonymous with purposeful luxury and quality – an enduring and powerful inspiration.'
