The Italian maison renowned for its use of sherbert coloured geometric prints will launch its first collection under Camille Miceli, appointed artistic director last year.
The first Emilio Pucci capsule presentation under Miceli's stewardship will debut in Capri on April 29th, 2022, ending five years of collections produced without an artistic director since the 2017 departure of Massimo Giorgetti. Miceli was appointed to the head of the house in September 2021 from Louis Vuitton, where she was accessories creative director since 2014. The move marked the beginning of a new era for the LVMH-owned brand, after recent years had seen Pucci's signature psychedelic-flavoured designs get attention through collaborations with the likes of Tomo Koizumi and Supreme and on the vintage market, but not carrying the contemporary cache it had in the mid-20th century.
The role is a natural fit for the Italian-French Miceli, who got her start in fashion with an internship under Azzedine Alaïa and who has worked across the luxury sector including PR at Chanel and in jewellery design for Dior. The combination of product development knowledge and marketing on Miceli's CV may prove to be a winning combination for Pucci, who could look to join Courrèges and Pierre Cardin as iconic 1960s heritage brands revamped for the luxury market.
