Floral designer Fleurotica and artist Anna Mala are the latest individuals to join accessories brand KARA's You Be You series. You Be You is a visual series where KARA founder Sarah Law chooses muses, collaborators and inspirational people to document how they personally interact with the brand's bags.

Anna Mala is a visual artist and fashion stylist based in the Netherlands: her take for the You Be You project sees a stark white, fragmented take, where Mata becomes disembodied, her nude body parts floating as if in mid-air, her face somewhat distorted.

Fleurotica's take however is much more botanical, naturally - given it's a flower design company. Based in New York, Fleurotica was founded by Robin Rose, and its shop is just off Bleecker Street (one to note down for the next time we're allowed out of our houses, post-coronavirus). They're praised for their artistic and intellectual approach to flower design, and that comes through in their images, which look like gallery exhibits with high-shine imitation oranges featuring in the intriguing compositions.

KARA was founded by Chinese-American designer Sarah Law in 2013, and its name derives from the Japanese word karaoke’, which means ‘empty orchestra’. Other creatives who've joined the You Be You series are artists Michel Bisaillon, Masha Reva, John Yuyi, and Aleia Murawski. To see more, head to the KARA website.
